Prayer Garden

to celebrate the centenary of St Augustine’s Priory School, Ealing, London – June 2015

To mark the centenary a planting plan was requested to enhance the prayer garden. The layout and planting scheme should incorporate seating and sensory plants conducive to quiet prayer and reflection. Enough space should be available for the garden to be used for other activities e.g. drama and music. Planting should incorporate where possible, plants from a list drawn up by the Liturgy Prefects.

The layout of the planting plan was inspired by a stained glass window in the school’s Chapel. The children and teachers helped with the planting.

As part of the centenary celebration of St Augustine’s Priory, the renovation of our prayer garden was integral to preserving our cultural identity and providing a practical space for our community. Kaye understood the importance of this balance and designed a space that reflected our ethos perfectly. Not only was Kaye’s work sensitive to our particular needs, but was delivered with gusto and professionalism; managing relationships with a plethora of stakeholders including students, staff, parents and governors, with tact and charm. Working to a very short timescale, Kaye proved herself to be an effective project manager and very pragmatic. We highly recommend the services of Kappa Lye Gardens.Communications Office - St Augustine's Priory
